The best cuisine is French! Many French citizens think so. However, according to the ranking of the best cuisines in the world carried out by CNN and released on May 2, 2023, that would not be the case. Our cuisine still ranks third, but is overtaken by Italy and China. A place that surprises many and on which Yves Calvi and Cyril Lignac wanted to debate this Friday, May 12 on RTL.
For the chef known thanks to the show “Yes sir !” And “Top chef” on M6, there would be an explanation for this. Indeed, for the man who very rarely talks about his son, the kitchens that are part of the top remind us of certain events in our lives. Like holidays for example.

“Making a ranking of what is the best cuisine in the world? It’s still always complicated. Because indeed, Chinese cuisine is very good because it is very fragrant and people love traveling and this kitchen, he explained first before taking the example of Italy: “like Italian cuisine that reminds us of holidays”.
“And French cuisine too, we are still…”tried to sue Cyril Lignac before being cut off by Yves Calvi: “It’s good as a definition. So the Chinese and the Italians are ‘holiday cooking'”. A bit embarrassed, the chef tried to regain control and provide arguments for his words: “No but…”. But once again, he didn’t have time to finish his argument when the chef Simone Zanoni cut him off again and tackled the French: “French is strike cuisine!”.
A remark that did not fail to make the set and in particular Yves Calvi hilarious. The RTL morning host even acknowledged: “And boom we just got another one!”. It’s fair game.
