Météo France had forecast thunderstorms earlier in the afternoon. The Vaucluse was on Orange alert for these storms. The storms evacuate in the night in the direction of the Alps towards the North-East.

The Vaucluse firefighters indicate that between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the storm moved from Avignon to the areas of Caumont-sur-Durance, Le Thor and Cavaillon. Firefighters responded to 107 calls in one hour for wind-blown trees and poles sometimes violent in the storm. About twenty interventions were in progress on Wednesday evening.
