The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) having regained 78% of pre-pandemic ridership, it adjusted its bus service. It now offers a new identification for lines whose passages occur every 2 to 12 minutes. Some 31 “frequent lines” will be identified using purple signs.
This new identification replaces the “10 minutes max” abolished last January due to a reduction in service and the inability for the STM to respect its commitments in terms of bus frequency.
Nine lines will have frequent crossings, between 2 and 12 minutes, all day long, including the 18 (Beaubien), the 24 (Sherbrooke), the 51 (Édouard-Montpetit), the 67 (Saint-Michel) and the 105 (Sherbrooke). ).
Twenty-two routes will offer frequent crossings during peak hours only on weekdays. Among these are lines 32 (Lacordaire), 33 (Langelier), 80 (du Parc), 97 (Avenue du Mont-Royal) and 161 (Van Horne).
This identification will ensure that users will not have to consult the schedule on these lines, explained Éric Alain Caldwell, president of the STM board of directors, on Monday. “What we tell Montrealers is that we know that frequency is important. »
Currently, the service offering represents 95% of the pre-pandemic level.
