Stella Vita. This is the pretty name of this concept car or solar motorhome imagined and designed by the 22 Dutch students of the Solar Team Eindhoven. The Solar Team Eindhoven, aware that solar energy is our greatest source of energy, wants to ensure that our mobility is no longer dependent on one energy, but rather between being productive.
When designing the Stella Vita, the objective was to be able to cover as many kilometers as possible in total autonomy. Currently, their concept car can drive up to 730 km. Recharging is done thanks to awnings-solar panels over 8.8 m² while driving and unfolding over 17.5 m² when stationary. Total solar charging takes 2 to 3 days depending on weather conditions, but if necessary, the Stella Vita has a standard charging socket. The vehicle is a place of life in its own right with everything you need to live (beds, shower, kitchen, WC, etc.) with a speed capacity of up to 120 km/hour. It therefore has everything you need to travel in comfort and safety. The Solar Team Eindhoven team left in September 2021, for a 3000 km road trip from Holland to Andalusia to test the Stella Vita’s ability to be fully autonomous over long distances. The trip was a success.
The Stella Vita concept was noticed by the Renault group, which invited them for a discussion on the mobility solutions of the future. Case to follow, is not it?
