Overall, the government wants to simplify the system, and above all, change scale. The objective is to encourage the French to embark on more significant global renovations, which include several changes at once, not just insulating windows or just changing a boiler. Because this type of renovation is not enough to transform energy sieves into well-insulated housing.

The objective is to encourage the French to embark on work which are expensive, several tens of thousands of euros (60,000-70,000 euros). Hence the idea of making MaPrimRénov’ more generous, from next year. The level of aid will depend on household income, but the executive is committed to reducing the remainder payable by the French. In particular, the State wants to better support them so that their housing is better classified on energy performance diagnostics. (DPE). The DPE define housing according to letters and the idea is to ensure, for example, that after extensive work, a house goes from F to B. And for the most modest households, the State promises to cover up to 90% of renovation work.
A budget increasing by 66%
The State will release 1.5 billion euros next year, in addition to the 5 billion euros already planned for the renovation of buildings. It is an ambitious bet since it targets 200,000 large-scale renovations of housing from next year, sis almost three times more than todayour today. Failing to relax the timetable for energy strainers, which is causing concern and discontent, the government is pulling out all the stops to support owners in their renovation, including those who rent their property. Remember that from 2025it should be prohibited to rent accommodation which has a poor energy diagnosis – which displays, for example, the letter G.
It is also a way of supporting the building because between inflation and increases in interest rates, it is a sector that is suffering. Accelerating renovation is one way to support activity and maintain employment.
