At the end of 2020, for lack of candidates other than the SNCF, the State had put an end to the competition for Nantes/Lyon and Nantes/Bordeaux Intercity lines. The process could not be completed due to the context of uncertainty linked to the Covid crisis. The SNCF therefore still operates these lines.
This Friday, in a press release, the Ministry of Transport announces a new call for tenders which may also concern the new Nantes-Lille line, via Angers, Le Mans, Caen, Rouen and Amiens .
“The start of operation by the new contract holder is planned for 2027”, once designated the winner of the call for tenders according to the Ministry of Transport.
