(Cedar Park) Joel L’Esperance had a goal and two assists to guide the Texas Stars to a resounding 6-1 victory over the Laval Rocket on Friday night in an American Hockey League game.

Esperance dealt a blow to the Rocket (15-12-2) when it assisted on the first three goals for the Stars (12-14-6) in the second period. He tied the game at 1-1 before setting the table for both goals in 4:18 from Anthony Louis.
Ty Dellandrea, who added an assist, Jérémy Grégoire and Nicholas Caamano also moved the ropes for the Stars, who have not lost in regulation in their last six games (4-0-2).
NHL veteran Anton Khudobin gave up just once in 25 shots past the Dallas Stars’ farm club.
Tory Dello scored his first career American League goal and is the only Rocket player to beat Khudobin.
Kevin Poulin started the game for Jean-François Houle’s men and allowed six goals on 28 shots. In relief, Louis-Philip Guindon was perfect in front of nine shots.
Tempers flared in the third period, as several altercations ensued and a fight broke out. During this engagement, 70 minutes of penalty were awarded.
The Rocket began a five-game road trip before returning to Place Bell to host the Syracuse Crunch on Feb. 9.
