Migrants are increasingly flocking to the Belarus-Poland border, as the two countries are in the midst of a diplomatic crisis.
The diplomatic situation between Poland and Belarus is becoming increasingly critical, as migrants flock to the border between the two countries, hoping to rally Poland in order to head to Western Europe. Migrants and Polish soldiers, who have come to defend their borders, are separated a few meters by barbed wire. Coming mainly from the Middle East, nearly 2,000 people are forced to sleep in the cold, without being able to be helped by humanitarian aid.
Some migrants stranded at the border reached Belarus by taking planes departing from Beirut (Lebanon) or Damascus (Syria). Flights organized by agencies and which sell for 4,000 dollars, with hotel nights and a visa to enter Belarusian territory. Political tension is mounting between the two countries in particular, the Polish president accusing the Belarusian president of willful manipulation. To limit the influx, Turkey decided to help the European Union by banning flights to Belarus to Iraqis, Yemenis and Syrians.
