The Aix-en-Provence site was not chosen at random. The XV of France, one of the favorites for the 2023 World Cup in France, will indeed settle down in Aix in full competition in 2023 for three weeks to prepare for its last two group matches.

Concretely, the stay of the Blues in Provence will last from September 15 to October 5, 2023. The French team will arrive after their match against Uruguay and will leave the day before or the morning of their 4th and last group match against Italy planned in Lyon. In the meantime, the France team will play on September 21 at the Vélodrome stadium against an African team qualified in the Rugby Africa Cup (from July 1 to 10 in Marseille and Aix).

Fabien Galthié was won over by the city’s geographical location and infrastructure. The team will stay at the Renaissance Hotel where 70 rooms have already been reserved. For the training of the Blues, the Georges Carcassonne stadium will undergo a refresh at 1.5 million euros before summer 2023.
