There will be no JDD in newsstands on Sunday. The staff of Sunday newspaper voted again almost unanimously, Saturday June 24, the continuation of the strike movement, started Thursday in reaction to the arrival as editorial director of Geoffroy Lejeune, just landed from the far-right weekly Current values. The sling will continue at least until Wednesday morning.

The editorial staff asked, on Saturday, the management of the weekly, controlled by Vincent Bolloré, to give up appointing Geoffroy Lejeune as its head. Official since Friday evening, this arrival is a “Red line”wrote the Society of Journalists of the JDD. “The editorial staff of the JDD refuses to be led by a man whose ideas are in total contradiction with the values ​​of the newspaper”she added, after a 98% vote in favor of the renewal of the strike (80 votes “for”, two “against”, three “does not decide”).

The announcement of Geoffroy Lejeune’s appointment sparked many reactions. A forum signed by some thirty companies of journalists and editors of major media is to be published on Sunday morning to ask the owners of the JDD to give up this “forced passage”.
