The Stade de Reims stands up to a nervous Paris (0-0)

This time, it was not the Stade de Reims that saw red. And for good reason… Faced with a devilishly well organized team, Paris Saint-Germain never found the solution this Saturday evening during the 10th day of Ligue 1. Certainly the Parisians had the ball most of the time ( 64%), but very often cornered in his camp. The Reims strategy has worked tremendously well. Attacking the ball carrier from the restart, the Rémois forced their evening visitor to retreat, leaving few possibilities for danger. PSG had to rely on their individualities to create the difference. But neither Fabian Ruiz’s long shot nor Kilian Mbappé’s speed destabilized a Yevhann Diouf flawless.

Conversely, the Rémois, concentrated and uninhibited, offer themselves reasons to believe in it. The percussions ofArber Zeneli create danger. And it takes an excellent Gianluigi Donnarumma to fend off attempts to Marshall Munetsi then from Zeneli on returning from the locker room. Enough to unpin the Parisians. Unable to deploy their game, Marquinhos’ teammates get annoyed. On a breakthrough, Dion Lopy gets a free kick. Sergio Ramos, however experienced, then makes remarks which pushes the referee to exclude him.

The second half is rhythmic and tense. With Rémois limited to pressing Parisians without a solution, the scenario of the match does not evolve, and the changes, despite Neymar, do not change anything. The visitors are even close at the end of the match to a second red card. Regardless, the solidarity and energy offered by the Rémois must be a founding act for the future. It will now be a question of confirming and taking points against more affordable teams.
