The St. Laurent Distillery goes bankrupt

After being sheltered from its creditors in March 2023, the Distillerie du St. Laurent, in Rimouski, went bankrupt this Friday.

During a meeting held in the morning, the majority of creditors refused the proposal presented by the company. “It therefore causes automatic bankruptcy,” said Duty Guyllaume Amiot, licensed insolvency trustee and senior director at Raymond Chabot. This firm was mandated to take care of the company’s assets.

“With the collaboration of creditors and according to the directives that we can obtain, there could be a sale process in terms of liquidation of assets,” specified Mr. Amiot.

Founded in 2015, the distillery was known, among other things, for its St. Laurent Gin with vegetal notes, as well as its Three Grains Whiskey. It was located a few steps from the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site.

At the time these lines were written, The duty was unable to contact the company.

Further details will follow.
