The SPVQ arrests two men suspected of around forty burglaries

(Quebec) The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) made two arrests on Thursday in Trois-Rivières as part of an investigation into a series of break-ins that have occurred in recent years .

The two men, Michel Blais, 59, and Daniel Fournier-Larose, 62, appeared during the day for thefts committed in several businesses in the province, indicated SPVQ spokesperson David Poitras.

They are suspected of having committed more than forty break-ins, including ten in Quebec City alone, totaling loot estimated at more than $350,000. These thefts mainly targeted cigarettes, lottery tickets and money.

According to the SPVQ report, Blais and Fournier-Larose entered the establishments during the night by forcing the door and robbed them in a few minutes. They have been operating since 2022 according to the police, but they do not exclude that other businesses were victims.

The operation was carried out in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec as well as several municipal police services.
