The SPVM finds a suspicious package in the city center

A suspicious package was found inside an office building in the Ville-Marie borough on Thursday afternoon.


Security officers found the package in an office building located on René-Lévesque Boulevard, near Saint-Urbain Street, around 4:45 p.m.

Police officers located the suspicious package when they arrived on the scene and protected the scene, according to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The tactical intervention group will travel to the scene to analyze the package.

As a preventive measure, the Montreal fire department went to the scene and the occupants of the building were evacuated, specifies the SPVM.

The police will check possible surveillance cameras located near the scene. According to the SPVM, the investigation is ongoing.
