The Institute of Ancient and Medieval Studies at Université Laval is continuing its series of lectures for the general public at the Musée de la civilisation.
This activity, organized by professors Jonathan Bourgel and Éric Crégheur, presented at the Auditorium Roland-Arpin, offers a series of lectures on various subjects related to the Middle Ages and Antiquity.
On Wednesday, at 7 p.m., Thierry Petit, full professor at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, will address, during the conference The Sphinx in all its states, a new interpretation, simpler and deeper, than those, often eccentric, attributed to this female monster from Greek mythology.
On May 25, at 7 p.m., during the last conference of this event, Anne-France Morand, professor in the Department of Literature, will present the elements of an investigation into the death of little Dionysos, son of Zeus.
The Institute of Ancient and Medieval Studies of Laval University, created in 1999, has the mission of disseminating knowledge and promoting studies and research in the field of Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
The conferences are open to all and entry is by voluntary contribution. The funds collected will be donated in the form of student scholarships and support to the Institute of Ancient and Medieval Studies at Université Laval.
