The price paid by Lyft is not known and the acquisition of PBSC urban solutions should be finalized in a few months at most.
“This is a huge opportunity for PBSC,” said company president Luc Sabbatini.
PBSC, which has a hundred employees, will eventually become a subsidiary of Lyft and everything indicates, for the moment, that Quebec jobs are not at stake.
Lyft got into bike-sharing in 2018. The bulk of its revenue comes from ride-sharing, like Uber.
Its bikes are currently present in nine cities in the United States, including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
