Good news for employees. The site and the SNCF Connect application now accept online payments by holiday vouchers, a simplification which is however not automatic because the vouchers will have to be converted into a dematerialized version, SNCF announced on Thursday 19 May.

One in five train tickets is paid for in holiday vouchers each year between June and August, but until now you had to go to the station to be able to use them.

“The integration of this means of payment makes life easier for travelers by giving them more flexibility and freedom thanks to the possibility of doing everything remotely to pay for all or part of their tickets”noted SNCF Voyageurs and the National Agency for Holiday Checks (ANCV) in a joint press release.

To pay for your ticket online with holiday vouchers, you must use a dematerialized version called “Chèque-Vacances Connect”. The procedure for converting classic titles is explained on the dedicated ANCV website.

Train tickets paid for with holiday vouchers can now be exchanged for digital vouchers on SNCF Connect. Exchanges will be possible from June on self-service terminals and only in 2023 at the counter, according to the press release.
