Good news for ski enthusiasts: this year the resorts will be fully open! Last year, the ski lifts were closed because of the health crisis. This winter, the activity can resume but under conditions: the health pass will be mandatory to access the ski lifts if the incidence rate exceeds 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and it will be necessary to keep the mask in the queues.
“We are very satisfied, for us it is ideal: we will be open no matter what!“rejoices Marc Oboussier, the director of the Drôme ski resorts.
In the Drôme, skiing is an important sector for the economy of the Vercors. “If we exceed 200 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and we have to control the health pass, we will do it, _we are used to barrier gestures, to masks_, so it will be a little detail. Already, we are very happy to have the assurance of functioning“, testifies Marc Oboussier.
Last season, the Drôme resorts only made 10% of their usual turnover : only ski schools could use the ski lifts.
“I hope it will revive the craze, I know a lot of people are waiting to ski. We are satisfied with this good news and then we wait to see with the snow how it goes !“, concludes Marc Oboussier.
