The organizers of the Six Nations Tournament denied, Friday, February 18, to lead a reflection around the replacement of a nation. The rumor had swelled in the week following the publication of an article by the Daily Mail. The British media argued on February 16 that South Africa was about to replace Italy, by 2025, in the legendary tournament in the northern hemisphere.

In a tweet, published on Friday, the Six Nations Tournament denies leading any discussion on this subject: “Six Nations Rugby, comprising the Six Nations and Federations, and the CVC (the Tournament’s financial partner), wish to confirm that they have no discussions and are not developing any plans to add or replace any participants. All their energy is focused on the ongoing strategic discussions regarding the July and November international windows and the structure of the global session, as well as ensuring a positive outcome for game development.“
