Some fear a wave of arrivals. Migrants have been arrested and transported to a center where their asylum application will be examined.

No more migrants than usual

According to agents on the spot, their number is not higher than usual. “Title 42” is replaced by “Title 8”, which is more restrictive in certain aspects. In Ciudad Juárez, the border town in Mexico, a team from France Télévisions met women in a shelter, coming from Nicaragua. Already turned back once, they fear the new measures. “Before, with ‘Title 42’, you could attempt the crossing (…) as much as you wanted.
