the sister of the Clain brothers heard at the November 13 trial

On the sixtieth day of the trial of the Paris and St-Denis attacks, the special assize court is prosecuting the hearings of relatives of terrorists. This Wednesday Anne-Diana Clain, the older sister of the Clain brothers, the Toulouse residents who recorded the message calling for the attacks, was heard. His daughter Jennifer is also to testify.

Hearings by videoconference from their remand centers: they are both incarcerated. Anne-Diana Clain is serving a 9-year prison sentence for trying to join Daesh in Syria with four of her children. Jennifer was sentenced upon returning from Syria in 2019.

Anne-Diana Clain returned to the religious journey of this family of practicing Catholics. Originally from Reunion, the “Clan clan” settled in Toulouse in the 2000s and converted to Islam under the leadership of the two brothers, Fabien and Jean-Michel. The family then got closer to the “white emir”, Olivier Corel, a Syrian naturalized French and mentor of many jihadists, installed in Artigat, in Ariège.
