In a relationship with Olivia Ruiz between 2005 and 2011, Mathias Malzieu, singer of the group Dionysos, spoke about their relationship, in an interview with Here. To our colleagues, he admits that he fell in love with the singer revealed by the Star Academy, for her Spanish origins.
“We ultimately remained very close“
And for good reason… we learn that her mother died a year before she met Olivia Ruiz. She was also a native of Spain, a singer and lover of flamenco. And Mathias Malzieu admits: “yes, it resonated very strongly… With my father and my sister, it obviously did something to us“. And to add that even today, ties are not completely cut with his ex.
He explains: “Olivia is amazing, and even though our story ended, we ultimately remained very close. Moreover, she sings on my latest album, L’Extra-ordinarium, which celebrates the thirty years of Dionysus.”
Olivia Ruiz also took their separation philosophically, when she revealed at Gala in 2012: “Although we have been separated for a year now, the bond is not broken. This separation is a period of mourning to overcome. You know, seven years of living together, there is inevitably an unwavering attachment between us…”
They are both resettled
The singer is now in perfect love with another man, Nicolas Preschey, with whom she had a boy, Nino, in 2015. For his part, Mathias Malzieu, has also rebuilt his life. He confided to our colleagues, this February 9, 2024: “I’ve been living on a barge for two and a half years with my more-than-muse, the artist Daria Nelson, as well as two marvelous little cats. I go paddle boarding at night on the Seine with a flashlight, and I draws great inspiration from it. At a certain time, it becomes the land of reflections, everything doubles and it’s magical…” The good life.
