The singer Mylène Farmer finds herself stuck in a trap door in the middle of the show… the animator-producer Arthur panics!

As the expression says, there are sometimes live hazards and it is not Arthur who will say the opposite. With all these years of experience as an animator and producer, he has seen green and unripe ones. Guest on the set of the show We redo the TV on RTL, he mentioned an incredible anecdote related to Mylène Farmer.

Arthur has a well-stocked CV as an animator since he took care of the shows: TV Kids, Saturday Night Fury, but also Nice People, take it or leave it or On Friday, everything is allowed, which is still on the air. During his career, the ex of Estelle Lefébure was brought to animate live for his greatest happiness and sometimes for quite the opposite!

This is what happened on June 19, 1999. At the time, Arthur was live from the Parc des Princes on the occasion of the music festival. While the cream of music stars were there, one detail could have completely ruined the evening. Corridor noises evoked the arrival of Mylène Farmer without being confirmed until D-Day. The host took advantage of Claire Chazal’s 8 p.m. news to confirm the news a few minutes before.

On this occasion, the one who raised an orphan child was to give one of his rare live performances but everything almost changed because of the producer. “A good idea, even that I had, ‘Mylène Farmer, we take it out the door’“We have a large hatch installed, she has a beautiful dress with a sublime train”, began by telling Arthur. From there, he begins to announce the arrival of the singer to the delight of the public present, but a technical problem has just been blown to him in the headset to tell him that she is not ready.

Arthur continues: “The music starts, and I say, ‘Oh god, she’s stuck in the trap door, the dress is stuck, the trap door won’t go up.’ And they say to me, ‘Embroidered!’ I am in front of 20,000 people at the Parc des Princes (…) Mom is not ready, she is stuck, and the music continues”. Fortunately, everything is back to normal… Phew!
