“Today, when I release an album, there is no radio that supports me because, for them, I am a product that has already been consumed for a long time. We entered the disposable industry…”. This is what Hélène Ségara confided on October 25 to our colleagues from women’s diary.
“I am one of the few of my generation who is still here”
One year after the release of his last album, Karma in 2021, from which the titles are extracted “Never again“, “These shadows“, and “Illusion in the system“, Hélène Ségara has no illusions about her new challenges. She admits to having understood: “In my job, when you’ve been a singer since the late 90s-2000s, the first challenge is to last!” And to congratulate each other: “I am one of the few of my generation who is still here”.

His participation in the entertainment program of M6 “France has incredible talent”, whose jury she joined in 2015, necessarily gives her some exposure. And if Hélène Ségara has a solid fan base, she does not escape malicious remarks either. The 51-year-old star, who has had a few health issues including an eye condition that requires her to style her hair a certain way to cover one eye or wear sunglasses, sometimes reads the comments insensitive to some Internet users.
“I really think age is in the head”
And if she takes them humanely, and they hurt her, Hélène Ségara also knows that she can count on her self-esteem, to raise her head. Criticized on her physique, on her forms, and sometimes also on her age, she estimated in the women’s diary : “Although it’s often seen as a cliché, I really think age is in your head.
