Facing the camera, the main interested party has agreed to lift the veil on their love story. But also on their family life which has never ceased to amaze the French. But in 2016, the couple had to face terrible news. Indeed, the doctors detect lung cancer in Johnny Hallyday. At the beginning of his follow-up, they thought of a simple infection… Exclusively, the magazine Marie-France revealed the confidences of Laeticia Hallyday during the report on the diagnosis of the disease of his half.
“Why didn’t they operate?”
“The doctor has come […] to tell me that Johnny had only three months to live and that it was a very serious, inoperable lung cancer […] at stage 4”, entrusted the producer to our colleagues. At the time, his only wish was to preserve it. In the midst of turmoil, the ex-mother-in-law of Laura Smet and David Hallyday is totally distraught: “I want to die, to disappear because I wonder how I will manage to announce this to my husband. How am I going to end up with him in the bedroom? It was impossible”.
But very quickly, Johnny Hallyday feels that his wife is hiding something from him. “’Why didn’t they operate?’, ‘I’m going to die?’, ‘I have cancer’? », he would have whispered to him. “I don’t dare tell him the truth because I’m not ready for that and he’s not ready for that,” said Laeticia Hallyday, who ended up revealing the horrible truth to him. However, she does not tell him how long he has left to live: “I simply asked the doctor not to tell him that he didn’t have very long because otherwise he wouldn’t have clung to life…”.
