Sacha, victim of a missile attack last May, had his left leg amputated. Despite this terrible twist of fate, the seven-year-old Ukrainian girl does not want to give up her passion: gymnastics.

At first glance, she has the grace of a seven-year-old champion. Sacha is however the only one of these young gymnasts to have to train with a heavy handicap. Her left leg has been amputated. In May 2022, a missile hit the city of Zatoka, Ukraine. Under the rubble, the little girl was found by a miracle. “The doctors came to tell us that they couldn’t save her leg. At that time, she was in a coma”says his mother.

“I feel better with these prostheses”

Despite this terrible twist of fate, Sacha does not want to give up on his passion. Thanks to the help of rehabilitators, she learns to have sensations with her artificial leg. For a month, the training sessions have been linked and the progress is already visible. “Now I feel better with these prostheses”, confides the little girl, who does three hours of gymnastics a day. Getting back on the top step of the podium, like in the happy days before the war, a dream that lights up Sacha’s eyes.
