Diapers, infant milks, washing gels… The prices of many products sold in pharmacies are rising sharply. Laboratories and manufacturers have reassessed their prices in proportions that nothing seems to explain.

On the shelves of pharmacies, some non-prescription drugs and infant products have seen their prices rise. The trend should even continue, according to Patrick Sitbon, pharmacist. “Concretely, a milk that will be on average at 20 euros, it will go between 22 euros and 24 euros“, he warns. For several weeks, he has been receiving letters from his suppliers, who are already announcing new price increases for the start of the school year. They range from 7% to 15% depending on the laboratories, which is more than the inflation, currently at 6%.

The biggest increases are seen on the side of the largest groups, with a well-rehearsed argument. “The global economic context, and then certain conflicts that are taking place, particularly in Ukraine, and which have an impact, for example, on the prices of raw materials, the prices of packaging, the prices of transport“, explains the pharmacist. Elements which do not, however, explain the extent of the increases. Some diapers, for example, have increased by 91%.
