After a fourteen-month hiatus, the series Plus belle la vie will be reborn on TF1 next January, under the name More beautiful life, even more beautiful. Filming for this new season has resumed around ten days ago in Allauch, a small town of 20,000 inhabitants located a few kilometers from Marseille. But unfortunately for fans of the series, exit the iconic Mistral square, Roland’s bar, Luna and Mirta’s hotel, the Le Marci restaurant and the apartments of Luna, Blanche, Thomas and Gabriel…
As Stéphanie Brémond, deputy general director at Newen in charge of long series and serials, told our colleagues at Parisianall the sets were destroyed the day after the series ended on November 18, 2022: “When the decision was made to resume the series, they had already been destroyed,” recalls Stéphanie Brémond. “We had no choice.”The new production had to do differently to reinvent this series, and therefore created new studios, and a new Mistral square that viewers should discover on January 8, probably around 1:40 p.m., just after Marie-Sophie’s 1 p.m. Lacarrau. The decision to write a second life More beautiful life was however taken several months ago, since the first contacts between the town hall of Allauch and the management of the soap opera dates back to Februarythree months after the end of the series.
A dance school as a major new setting
Viewers risk being somewhat disoriented since all of the settings they knew will no longer be present: “To be exact, we have 99.95% new decor,” smiles the deputy general director. “Since the only element we find is the zinc from the Mistral bar” confided the boss. Thus, the Marseille-Est hospital will no longer exist, and will be replaced by a medical center, where Gabriel, Babeth and Léa will work. Exit the person of Jeanne Carmin therefore, who played the role of the director of the hospital since 2012… The emblematic Mirta hotel, which had become that of the Castels in the last season and which had been renamed The Zephyr, will no longer exist either. The Vincent Scotto high school will no longer be there either, depriving fans of the emblematic principal Rochat. In terms of new sets, the production made the choice in particular a hardware store, a hair salon and a dance school.
