The sequel to Top Gun will be presented at Cannes





Top Gun: Maverickwith Tom Cruise, will be presented at the 75and Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety.

Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, played by Tom Cruise, should take control of his fighter plane on May 27 for the theatrical release of the film. The release has also been postponed a few times due to the pandemic.

Actor Val Kilmer will also be back in his role as Iceman. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the film will star Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Monica Barbaro and Ed Harris.

The official world premiere of Top Gun: Maverick’s is scheduled in San Diego, according to Variety, and will take place before the Cannes screening. The Cannes Film Festival is held from May 17 to 28.

The complete program of selections will be unveiled during the third week of April.

Other notable titles expected to be in contention for a top spot in the lineup include Elvis by Baz Luhrmann, Three Thousand Years of Longing by George Miller, Crimes of the Future by David Cronenberg and Lightyear from Disney Pixar.

The cult movie Top Gun came out in 1986 and launched Tom Cruise’s career.
