The second meetings in Saint-Denis between Emmanuel Macron and party leaders will take place “at this stage” on October 30, learned Thursday September 28 France Télévisions with the presidential majority. That is, two months to the day after the first meeting which took place on August 30 at the education house of the Legion of Honor in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis).

The Head of State brought together the leaders of the parties represented in Parliament for an afternoon and evening of work in order to find ways to move the country forward, beyond political divisions, in the absence of an absolute majority. Politicians discussed several topics, from inflation to immigration to the war in Ukraine.

In a letter, Emmanuel Macron then promised the leaders of political parties to see them again this fall and was committed to making them a proposal “in the coming weeks” on a modification of the use of referendum. In the meantime, a government seminar met on September 6 to follow up on this “major political initiative”.
