Bed bugs seem to be gaining ground in France, as does psychosis. The government wants to show that it is taking up the subject, and to reassure the French.
For several weeks, bedbugs have proliferated even in transport. Videos on social networks showing these insects are multiplying. Even though the RATP assures that no bedbugs were detected, on the morning of Wednesday October 4, Paris metro passengers remain worried. “I’d rather not catch any, if that’s possible.”confides one of them.
Operators and user associations received by the Minister of Transport
The subject has become political. To avoid psychosis, the Minister of Transport receives operators and user associations. Ten months before the Olympic Games, the government intends to win this race against time. “This subject (…) requires an overall approach“, declared Olivier Véran, government spokesperson, in Advice ministers. Transport is not the only one affected by the presence of the insect: cinemas, housing and schools are also affected.
