Monday, September 12, a silent crowd gathered in the streets of Edinburgh to pay their last respects to the Queen. The coffin where Elizabeth II lies has crossed Scotland.

The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II split the crowd in Edinburgh on Monday, September 12. Millions of Scots came to pay their last respects to their queen. “We traveled 1,200 km to see this, it’s a moment in history”assures a woman. “All my life I’ve only known the Queen, it’s going to be hard to sing ‘God saves the King’ when I’ve always sung ‘God saves the Queen'”adds a man.

The four children of Elizabeth II walked behind their mother’s coffin. Andrew, withdrawn from the monarchy after accusations of sexual assault, was stopped by a man in the crowd, who was arrested. The coffin of Elizabeth II was adorned with the crown of Scotland, the one she had held during her first trip to Edinburgh, after her coronation, in 1953. The Scots were able to meditate after a mass. In London, Charles III received condolences from the Speakers of the British Parliament.
