At the Agricultural Show, the general agricultural competition still attracts as many people. For this edition, Hector, a ten-year-old black Salers bull, is one of the stars of the Show.
In the prestige aisle of the Agricultural Show, Hector is a bit of an attraction, Saturday March 5. The Salers bull is the only representative of a neglected branch of the breed. “It’s quite rare, there aren’t many of them, and then a ten-year-old bull is the oldest in the Show”explains Marcel Vidalenc, breeder of Hector. On the scale, Hector weighs 1.4 tons. His imposing look and his calm gaze still ensure him a beautiful fan club when he arrives in the ring.
This year, the bull is putting his championship title back into play. He’s been doing laps on the track. In his black dress, he still has the elegance of an extraordinary model, in the eyes of the “out of category” judge. A special prize is awarded to him. “It is a source of pride for all those who work day and night, for all those who give themselves with love for this breed which is great.”rejoices Nicolas Matière, owner of Hector.
