The Russian army announced its withdrawal from northern Ukraine on Saturday April 2. Journalist Maryse Burgot, special correspondent in Zaporijia in Ukraine, sheds light on the situation.
The Russian army wants to withdraw from northern Ukraine. “According to the Ukrainians, this withdrawal should allow the Russians to reposition themselves towards the south and the east of the country. The south is very bad news for the besieged city of Mariupol (Ukraine), [qui] should be subject to even more strikes from the Russians”indicates, Saturday, April 2, the journalist Maryse Burgot, special correspondent in Zaporijia (Ukraine).
The Russians will therefore also concentrate towards the east of the country. “They actually want to conquer, occupy all of the administrative regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, these regions which are partly controlled by pro-Russian separatists”, continues Maryse Burgot. Moscow wishing to own all of these territories, “a victory in this region would allow Vladimir Putin to achieve one of the objectives of this war”concludes the journalist.
