The multi-recidivist robber Redoine Faïd was transferred this Wednesday from the prison of Fleury-Mérogis (Essonne) to that of Condé-sur-Sarthe (Orne), learned this Thursday France Bleu Normandie, from his lawyer, confirming information from the newspaper West France.
The 50-year-old robber is to be tried next September for his spectacular helicopter escape from Réau prison, in Seine-et-Marne, in 2018. He was placed in solitary confinement in the prison on Wednesday morning. of Condé-sur-Sarthe as a particularly guarded prisoner.
Contacted by France Bleu Normandie, its lawyer Marie Violleau does not understand this transfer: “Redoine Faïd is constantly surrounded by supervisors who are trained to manage particularly dangerous profiles”she says. “There is very little risk of escape (…) It’s a more than intelligent humiliating response. It’s very complicated to think that in France, you can treat a man that way. “.
“This transfer does not generate, for the moment, any more concern”, assures Kevin Gripon, prison worker force secretary at Condé-sur-Sarthe prison. “Our establishment was designed to receive this kind of public, it will be taken care of like any other prisoner” he continues.
On July 1, 2018, an armed commando was dropped off by helicopter in the main courtyard of the penitentiary center. Two men equipped with assault rifles had emerged from the device before recovering Redoine Faïd who was serving a sentence for a failed robbery in 2010, which had cost the life of a municipal police officer. He remained on the run for three months, before being arrested on October 3, 2018 in an apartment in Creil, in the Oise, with several relatives. Since then, he has been in complete solitary confinement in prison.
