“The RN, the far right, are the enemies of women’s rights”Sarah Durocher, president of Family Planning, explains to France Inter, while feminist associations and unions are calling for demonstrations on Sunday June 26 in several cities in France against the far right, one week before the first round of the early legislative elections.

“Just imagine a society without family planning and all the grassroots associations, it would be catastrophic”estimates Sarah Durocher, expressing her fear, as well as that of feminist associations such as the Women’s Foundation or #Noustoutes, of seeing public subsidies diminish or disappear. “We have been receiving a lot of threats for some time, attacks on Planning offices for example”she also deplores.

For the president of Family Planning, the National Rally is a party “patriarchal” : “He talks about pronatalist policies. During the debate, we heard that we had to have children. So obviously we are very worried.”

Most of the associations and NGOs mobilizing on Sunday also see what has happened in other countries where the far right has come to power: “It happened. The French National Rally is not an exception. In Italy, women have real difficulties accessing abortion. That’s what we’re talking about, it’s not “To change the law overnight means that it will be even more difficult to access our rights.”
