The president of the Hauts-de-France region was the guest of the Event after the debate between Gabriel Attal, Jordan Bardella and Olivier Faure. He called on right-wing voters to mobilize in favor of LR candidates.

After the debate between the three representatives of the three favorite blocs in the polls for the legislative elections, Xavier Bertrand was the guest of “L’Événement” on France 2, Thursday June 27. “The RN is not a majority in the country, but there is a majority of angry French people”, estimated the president of the Hauts-de-France region, after being questioned about the polls which place the National Rally well in the lead. The RN benefits “difficulties in getting by, even for those who work. Difficulties today in being able to be safe in our country, (…) difficulties in having effective public services”he continued.

Xavier Bertrand then returned to Marine Le Pen’s statement, who declared that the title of “Army chief” of the President of the Republic is “honorary”. “That means she doesn’t want to respect the Constitution. That means she doesn’t want to respect the office of head of state.”he said, before estimating that this statement must please Vladimir Putin, because it implies that we “will not fight to defend Ukraine”.

The former Minister of Health then has to try to mobilize his voters. “To those who do not want a country even more divided with the National Rally, (…) I tell them to go and mobilize because on the evening of July 7, it will be too late”he urged. There will be no possible dissolution for one year. That means that in these cases, it will be Mr. Bardella at Matignon, for a firm year, at least.” Xavier Bertrand believes that there is an alternative with the LR candidates, especially since the Republican right holds the majority in the Senate. “It is only the Republican candidates who are capable of imposing this change of trajectory, this change of policy.”
