The government is granting respite to the public hospital on Thursday, October 21, it is postponing the Rist law, which aims to better control the remuneration of temporary doctors, to 2022. It will therefore not be applied on October 28. In the midst of the Covid-19 context, the situation is still tense and the application of this law risked causing a shortage of practitioners in certain establishments which mobilized against the application of this law.

Some doctors are paid up to 4,000 euros a day for an interim mission, hospitals that are understaffed agree to pay these prohibitive rates but this weighs heavily on their budget. Since 2020, there has been a decree which caps these prices at 1,100 euros per day, but it is not respected. This was the goal of the Rist law named after a LREM deputy. Strictly supervise the salaries of temporary workers, Frédéric Valletoux, president of the Hospital Federation of France, agreed in principle, but in the midst of the Covid-19 context with exhausted staff to replace, he appreciates the postponement of the law. “The supervision of the medical interest is something positive, nevertheless, it is true that the context was not the best “, assures Frédéric Valletoux.

“We have been arguing for a few weeks for an easing. There is no doubt to work on a charter with the National Order of Physicians, with the interim companies so that they comply with the regulatory framework.”
