the rise in power is being organized in Haute-Vienne and Corrèze

The Covid-19 epidemic has apparently resumed its progression. This Thursday evening, the figures in our departments are as follows: the incidence rate is 154 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Haute-Vienne. In Corrèze, it is a little lower with 148 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In hospitals, there are 3 more hospitalizations in Haute-Vienne (or 39 in total) and no news in Corrèze (32).

Vaccination is rather well respected in Haute-Vienne and Corrèze. 4 out of 5 inhabitants have received at least one dose of vaccine in Haute Vienne and Corrèze. In contrast, only 34% of Corréziens have already received their third dose. To be able to step up in terms of vaccination, the prefectures, in conjunction with the Regional Health Agencies, will probably have to reopen centers. Some have been dormant for some time, such as in Corrèze where four centers are in the stating-blocks to reopen if necessary.. This is likely to be the case, since last night, in Limoges, the Doctolib site was still taking a very long time to access the vaccination slots.

The question of pending school tests

Among Olivier Véran’s other announcements this Thursday, there is the validity of PCR tests for the health pass reduced to 24 hours, instead of 72 hours. Does this risk impacting the labs? Not necessarily, even if according to Eric Sevin, from the union of biologists, “the number of tests has already increased significantly for several weeks”. When we talk about tests, it is especially those in the National Education that are talked about. The Minister of Health has, in fact, mentioned the end of the automatic closure of classes in primary school in the event of contamination of a student.

“Nonsense” explains Fabrice Prémaud, academic co-secretary of SNUIPP-FSU in Haute-Vienne. “You have to test students in schools, that’s for sure. But you have to do it before a positive case” protests the teacher who also wonders about the feasibility of this announcement. “We have never been able to do better than a week’s delay. How are we told that the labs are going to be able to multiply to be able to ensure that? It’s DIY” concludes Fabrice Prémaud.

According to a count made by the Limoges Academy on Thursday evening, there were 16 closed classes in Corrèze (2 classes in kindergarten and 14 in elementary) and 41 closed classes in Haute-Vienne (8 in kindergarten, 31 in elementary and 2 in college) .
