The Rio Loco festival will, as usual, take up residence at the Meadow of Filters in the center of Toulouse from Wednesday 15 to Sunday 19 June next.
After the 2021 edition placed under the sign of covid, this year promises to be a good year: shows, forums, exhibitions, events...etc. four scenes will be installed and there will be something for everyone. The concerts will be held, unlike last year, standing up.
It will be possible to stroll and enjoy the green spaces. Greedy beaks will even find something to eat.
A 2022 edition in the colors of Portugal
The 2022 edition entitled “Nova Onda” is labeled by the “France-Portugal Season” of the French Institute as part of its focus on new musical waves in Portugal and its influences.
The colorful poster is signed by the internationally recognized Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.
The work titled Meu Amor Inventado is composed of several nods to the portuguese culture : the country’s viticulture, the ancestral art of filigree goldsmithing, but also the “Coração De Viana” (heart of Viana), a symbol of life, brotherhood, friendship and universal love.
Color and rhythm, a few names are already known: the Brazilian artist Chico Cesarthe Danish pianist-singer Agnès Obel, the new voice of Senegal between hip hop, electro, soul or pop with the artist Lass, the sensory experience and the electroacoustic universe of the drummer and percussionist Lucia Antunes or the rockers of Break.
The complete program of the Rio Loco festival will be announced on next April 12at the same time as the opening of the website.
