Detox, stop using the smartphone
The Californian platform adds a new French production to its catalog. Detox follows the adventures of Léa and Manon, both cousins and roommates. They decide to part with their phone for a month for a digital detox. And for good reason, Léa (Tiphaine Daviot) is obsessed with her ex whom she keeps spying on the networks, and Manon (Manon Azem) is having difficulty recovering from a huge bad buzz. But this detox promises to be more difficult than expected, especially when the family gets involved. A comedy series by Marie Gardenerproducer of How I became a superhero.

The Rings of Power, the event series
It’s the big piece of September, the event series the rings of power. Inspired by the works of Tolkien, The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales and Legends the series traces the history of the Second Age of Middle-earth. A period never brought to the screen and taking place thousands of years before The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. The series takes place after the war against Morgoth, the first lord of darkness. During this conflict the elves suffered many losses, the famous Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) lost her brother on the battlefield. Traumatized, she continues to search relentlessly for Sauron to destroy him, Morgoth’s servant is hidden somewhere in Middle-earth. But evil reappears despite his efforts. The series follows different characters who will do everything to oppose the return of Sauron, such as Pievelus (a kind of Hobbit), Men and dwarves. The Rings of Power promise to be spectacular with a budget of one billion dollars invested by the platform to produce five seasons.

The black butterflies, the back-to-school thriller
Thriller enthusiasts will be served with black butterflies. Adrian, a writer out of inspiration embodied by Nicolas Duvauchelle is hired by an old man named Albert (Niels Arestrup) to write his memoirs. But when he begins his story, Adrien realizes that the old man is actually a serial killer who killed with a vengeance every summer in the years 70 with his partner Solange (Alyzée Costes). The author is torn between disgust and fascination in the face of this love story.ur passionate but murderous. The series navigates between the past and the present. Albert, in his early years, is embodied by Axel granberger, sacred best actor in a French series at the Series Mania festival. A sulfurous odyssey imagined by the duo of directors Olivier Abbou (maroni) and Bruno Merle (Congratulations).

Put on your lycra it’s the big comeback of aerobics. At the beginning of the 1980s in the town of Blagnac (Occitanie), most of the inhabitants worked in the aeronautics sector. This is the case of the husband of Karine, a forty-year-old stay-at-home mother. But Karine (Claire Dumas) is bored, she sees her life turned upside down when she discovers aerobics classes on Thursday evenings, for her a window to emancipation. The sessions are led by Jane (Alexia Barlier), a young Texan who has just arrived. But the participants, who have become friends, begin to suspect Jane of actually being an American spy. A pop series punctuated by an original soundtrack signed by the French group Fire ! Chattertonawarded best original music at the Séries Mania festival.

Tokyo Vice, at the heart of the yakuza clans
Building on its success in the United States, tokyo vice arrives exclusively on Canal+. Adapted from the eponymous novel by journalist Jake Adelstein, the series tells the story of the latter in the 90s. Played by Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver, West Side Story), the American reporter has just joined the police-justice department of the largest Japanese daily in Tokyo. After a few articles on unsolved suicides, he understands that these cases are actually linked to yakuza, powerful criminal clans who run the city from the shadows. Jake collaborates with police inspector Katagiri (Ken Watanabe) when he is contacted by yakuza who want to make the journalist their interlocutor. The young man will find himself in a delicate position by exchanging with the thugs while continuing to provide information to the police.

The Handmaid’s Tale, Final Chapter
It’s the end clap of The Handmaid’s Tale, the fifth season will be the last for the adaptation of the dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood. The series depicts a world ruled by men (the commanders), where fertile women (the servants) must give birth to the chain for the wives of the leaders, the wives. The series returned to cœur news with the removal of the stop Roe v. wade allowing the right to abortion in the United States. In this last chapter, June must bear the consequences of the murder of Commander Waterford. Serena, now a widow, struggles to find her place in Toronto society. For his part, Commander Lawrence tries, alongside Aunt Lydia, to reform the established Republic in order to seize power. Not to mention another pressing matter: finding and saving Hannah. Luke, June and Moira will try by all means to make it happen.

A private affair, Jean Reno assistant detective
Jean Reno delves into the Spain of the 1940s. A private affair he shares the poster with the Spanish actress Aura Garrido in the skin of Marina. A young woman who tries to get out of her social straitjacket by becoming a private detective, supported by her faithful butler Hector, played by the actor of Leon. This budding Sherlock Holmes will try to find the person responsible for the many murders of prostitutes that are multiplying in the city. We find at the helm the team of Phone girls, Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira. Presented in preview at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, the adventure series will bring a touch of lightness to lovers of mysteries.

Andor, the birth of the Rebellion
The platform with big ears has not finished exploring the Star Wars universe. After The Boba Fett Book and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Disney studios are interested in the debut of the rebel hero, Cassian Andor, already seen in the film RogueOne released in 2016. The series explores the beginnings of the Rebellion and how Cassian, still played by Diego Luna (Narcos: Mexico), joined the fight. Actress Genevieve O’Reilly will once again play politician Mon Mothma, secretly contributing to the Rebellion. While plot details are still unclear at this time, Ewan McGregor is being cast as the famous Jedi Master and actress Adria Arjona (Morbius) will play Bix Caleen, a close friend of Cassian.

The Old Man, spy hunt
It’s a breathtaking manhunt that is being prepared with The Old Man, Dan Chase, a former CIA agent on the run for several years. But one day his past resurfaces and an assassin tries to eliminate him. The FBI charged Harold Harper (John Lithgow seen in The Crown), assistant director of the counterintelligence service to catch the fugitive. The two men have a common past, they worked together before not without tension. But Dan Chase, played by multi-award winning actor Jeff Bridges, is far from easy to catch, an additional mercenary by the name of Julian Carson is sent after him. To work out a defense plan Dan will rent a room to Zoé, who quickly becomes fascinated by the life of the spy. At the helm we find Jon Watts, director of the Spider-Man films played by Tom Holland. The Old Man is adapted from the eponymous novel by Thomas Perry and reserved for an informed public.

Jungle, the rap UFO of September
It is an ambitious project proposed by Jungle. A six-episode series billed as a musical drama, led by the English creative duo Nothing Lost. Already spotted by the magazine varietyin his selection of 10 Europeans to watch on TV in 2022Chas Appeti and Junior Okoli sign with Jungle their first project for the small screen. The first images are striking by their very particular style which could evoke the phenomenon Euphoria. The miniseries will take place in the London ghetto where different people are trying to survive. The violent series is reserved for an informed public and deals with settling of scores, gang warfare and murders. All against a backdrop of drill, a very dark style of rap born in Chicago and strongly developed in England.
