According to the president of Gîte de France Drôme, tourists are very present in the ski resorts of the Vercors Drôme for these February holidays. The occupancy rate in general is 40% but it can rise to 100% in ski resorts.
A real difference compared to last year since the ski lifts were closed due to the health crisis.

The occupancy level in 2022 is slightly lower than in 2019, the benchmark year before the pandemic. It must be said that foreigners are still reluctant to travel and plan stays in France.
Large open sites are doing well
Even if it is not the high season, the large sites see their attendance increase for these February holidays. This is the case of the ideal palace of the postman Cheval in Hauterives in the Drôme which doubled its attendance compared to 2018. This is their reference year since in February 2019, the film “the incredible story of the postman Cheval” had just been released (January 16, 2019) on all screens in France, which had boosted admissions. The very good attendance this month of February shows that the effects of the film, the exhibitions and the second place obtained in the program “The favorite monument of the French” are still very present.
The Peaugres safari park in Ardèche has recorded a 20% increase compared to 2020. An increase that officials attribute to the weather but also to the Wild Lights festival which takes place until March 26 in the pedestrian alleys of the park. These are veritable light sculptures which also bring back families who already know the park.
