The last squares of the men’s and women’s draws were completed on Thursday.
Difficult to pass after a Rafael Nadal-Novak Djokovic, but the day of Wednesday June 1 had the right to its share of strong images. The most significant will remain the return to the highest level of the Croatian Marin Cilic, who we thought lost since 2019. The latter multiplied the winning strikes against Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals, winning in five sets and at the end of the first super tie-break in the history of the Philippe-Chatrier court (5-7, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6[10-2]).
But we must not forget either the qualifications for the semi-finals of Daria Kasatkina and the world n°1 Iga Swiatek. The two players meet again on Thursday for a place in the final. And on the other courts, Gabriel Debru became the only tricolor survivor among the juniors, while Michaël Llodra had fun with the public.
