Tourists not immune to the virus
How can this resurgence of dengue fever be explained? Beyond the spread of the tiger mosquito, the large flow of tourists to Guadeloupe may have played a role. Travelers often come from mainland France, and are therefore not immune to the virus. The regional health agency (ARS) is alerting today to a possible epidemic. She invites residents and tourists to protect themselves, in particular by wearing long clothes, and to consult a doctor in the event of a high fever.
