The resumption of the trial of the November 13 attacks next week remains very uncertain. According to a note sent by the president of the Special Assize Court of Paris to the civil parties, which Franceinfo was able to consult on Friday, December 31, the debates could not resume until January 13, 2022, “except new element”.

The trial, which was to resume on January 4, has already been postponed by at least 48 hours, after the main accused Salah Abdeslam tested positive for Covid-19 last Monday.

Initially, the medical isolation of Salah Abdeslam “was for a period of 10 days and ran until January 5, 2022 inclusive”, recalls the President of the Court. But this initial duration of 10 days of isolation “did not correspond to the guidelines concerning the Covid”, that is to say 17 days of isolation, specifies the note.

“As it stands and barring any new element, we could therefore not resume the discussions until January 13”, explains the president of the Special Assize Court of Paris, which will confirm this date “at the latest” Monday January 4.
