Quebec reports two new deaths attributed to COVID-19 on Friday, as well as a further drop in hospitalizations.
There are currently 1067 hospitalizations, a decrease of 38 compared to the previous day. Twenty-eight people are in intensive care, an increase of four.
A total of 3,940 healthcare workers are absent from the network for reasons related to COVID-19, such as preventive withdrawal or isolation.
The death toll now stands at 15,435.
The Ministry of Health reports 542 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 1,068,147 since the start of the pandemic. However, the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centers is restricted to priority clienteles.
A total of 215,009 rapid tests have been self-reported so far on the government platform, including 176,365 positives. For Thursday, 219 tests were declared, including 184 positive.
The Ministry of Health indicates that 11,060 analyzes were carried out on Thursday and that the positivity rate is 8.5%.
As for vaccination, 5188 doses were administered in the last 24 hours in Quebec.
Among those aged 5 and over, 91% received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% received a third dose and 14% received a fourth dose. Among those aged 60 and over, 42% received a fourth dose.
