On the 11th day of the war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again appealed for international help in the face of Russia’s invasion of his country. He notably expressed his concern for Mariupol, a besieged and strategic city for Vladimir Putin. Update on the situation Sunday, March 6.
In Mariupol, the intensive Russian bombardments have not ceased for several days. In a hospital, a nurse cannot hold back her tears of fear. A woman prays sitting in her wheelchair, while the others huddle together on the ground. The inhabitants hide where they can and NGOs fear a war crime in this city. The ceasefire was once again broken.
Some of those who managed to escape arrived in the pro-Russian dominated east. A woman testifies: “We saw houses burned, people sitting in cellars. People are shooting at each other, we have nothing left, no more water, gas, electricity”. A food warehouse was bombed in the Kiev region. The Russians are destroying all the infrastructure. In Lviv, a city still spared by the bombs, the displaced continue to arrive en masse. Husbands and brothers stayed to fight.
