“We actually demonstrated, Dominique Boutonnat was not there, we were very politely listened to, received and the response when we went up to the CNC offices was silence”, regrets, Monday May 13 on France Inter, the actress and director Judith Godrèche. Between 100 and 200 people, including actress Judith Godrèche, gathered in front of the headquarters of the National Cinema Center (CNC) in Paris to demand the departure of its president Dominique Boutonnat, who must be tried in June for sexual assault.
“We were told that he [Dominique Boutonnat] would still go to the Cannes Film Festival despite this article published in Libération. I don’t understand how he can want to go to the Cannes Film Festival in the current state of things.”says Judith Godrèche who will present a short film on sexual violence this year in Cannes. “Obviously it’s important to set an example and have someone at the head of this changing institution”believes the director. “We try to silence those who speak too loudly” but it would be necessary “support them, move forward together, let’s not pretend to be a big family”, says Judith Godrèche.
