In France, the unemployment rate is at its lowest for fourteen years thanks in particular to immersion in companies. This device allows a candidate to spend up to four weeks in a company to acclimatize to the professional world.
Francis Colire’s second professional life is no longer on construction sites, but in an Ehpad. After a long period of unemployment, he received a proposal from Pôle Emploi: to test the profession of geriatric assistant in real conditions. “I like this job because it is emotionally rich”, rejoices the interested party. For fifteen days, he followed the professionals of the nursing home in their daily lives. After observing them, he decided to continue his training.
70% of candidates find a job quickly
In Haute-Garonne, Pôle Emploi has followed nearly 2,000 immersions with 600 companies. “It has proven itself and it works really well since today, the figures tell us that seven out of ten job seekers who have gone through immersion have found a job in the months that followed.“, explains Caroline Bubly, Global Support Advisor.
