The residence of the mother of boss Jean-Philippe Célestin targeted by gunfire

The residence of the mother of gang leader Jean-Philippe Célestin was the target of several gunshots on the Plateau on Saturday evening, in Montreal: a monumental affront to the code of honor according to which one does not attack the family of a member of organized crime.

According to our information, three or four shots were fired a little after 7 p.m. at the door of his mother’s residence, on avenue Henri-Julien.

Luckily, no one was injured during the armed attack. The perpetrator of the crime had still not been located by mid-evening.

A security perimeter was established to protect the crime scene and forensic identification technicians from the Montreal police were to go to the site to try to collect evidence.

This is the second time in as many days that the boss Jean-Philippe Célestin has been indirectly linked to an event of violence in Greater Montreal.

On Friday night, one of his relatives, Jessy Furtado-Bénard, 32, was brutally killed during a general brawl that occurred in a nude dancers’ bar in Terrebonne.

It is still too early to determine whether the murder of Furtado-Bénard really has a link to Célestin’s activities.

In any case, this way of openly attacking a member of a criminal’s family is just another breach of a code of honor once respected by organized crime.

For several years now, this so-called code of honor has been flouted on numerous occasions, so that there no longer seem to be any established rules.

However, it is another disturbing event that affects the Célestin family in a short time. Five weeks ago, Jean-Philippe Célestin’s younger brother, Brandon Jean, 28, was shot and killed as he left a family party in Little Italy, in Montreal.

According to our information, nearly thirty shots were fired in his direction and three of them hit him, including one in the heart.

During his funeral, several members of the Marauders – the school club of the Hells Angels of the Montreal chapter – stood guard in front of the church.

This noted presence of members of the Marauders was explained a few weeks later, when police officers saw Jean-Philippe Célestin wearing his jacket bearing the image of the Marauders in a licensed establishment.

However, it appears very unlikely, if not impossible, that Célestin will one day end up obtaining his Hells Angels “patches” since only white people can be members of the most powerful biker gang in the world, under their internal regulations.
